This paper describes the first non-avian dinosaur egg clutch from the Dengta Basin, Heyuan, Guangdong. It is assigned to Elongatoolithus elongatus (Elongatoolithidae) based on the following characteristics: elongated and asymmetric eggs with an average length of 13.7 cm; the eggs are radially arranged in pairs, forming a ring-shaped clutch with their pointed ends directed outwards; the outer surface of the eggshell is ornamented with ridges that are parallel to the long axis; and the eggshell is composed of the mammillary layer and the continuous layer with a gradual boundary between. The discovery of elongatoolithid eggs in the Dengta Basin expands the paleogeographic distribution of this group and provides new data for the study of elongatoolithid clutch structure, as well as the Cretaceous red strata in the basin.
