Abstract: The specimens of ganoid fishes described here were collected from Mingshui, Gansu by some geologists of a local field party. All the 35 specimens came from lower subgroup of "Longfengshan Group" (Early Jurassic). Sixte n of them are assigned to a new species of Yuchoulepis, Y. gansuensis, of the ptycholepidae. The other nineteen are referred to a new genus and species, Plesiofuro mingshuica, of the Caturidae. Early Jurassic fishes were previously rarely found in China, this new discovery is of great significance to the study of the ichthyofauna of the period.
